STF Theatre in Situ International Forum 2023 Recap
Special Issue: STF Theatre in Situ International Forum
On September 4, 2023, in collaboration with G.D.Art, a leading professional arts magazine, we embarked on an exciting journey to explore the evolving landscape of performance spaces through the calls for paper for the “STF Theatre in Situ: Special Issue.” Shekou Theatre Festival invited scholars, practitioners, and enthusiasts to contribute their insights on the burgeoning Theatre in Situ industry. We encouraged a rich tapestry of perspectives—whether examining the current state of this dynamic field, analysing past successes for deeper understanding, or envisioning its future trajectory.
We were thrilled by the enthusiastic response, receiving 40 submissions, of which 30 full manuscripts were completed by the deadline. Our distinguished panel of reviewers carefully evaluated each piece, ultimately selecting 10 exceptional papers for inclusion in this special issue.
In addition to these scholarly contributions, we have also compiled the illuminating speeches and exclusive interviews from our forum’s esteemed guests. By capturing the vibrant discussions and innovative ideas that emerged, we aim not only to document the outcomes of this forum but also to provide a lasting resource for ongoing research and exploration in the performing arts industry.
